"I Don't Want My Guest To Be Bored!"

So, you may get to that point during your wedding planning- when you realize that all the people you are inviting (friends, family, coworkers, etc.) are buying you a gift or giving you money and.....what are you doing for them?

Many grooms will answer "I paying for them to eat!" And yes, catering an event for any number of guest over 50 is expensive. However, custom dictates that you also give your guest a "party favor" or "guest favor." However, this is not the post in which we will be going over guest favors (that will come later)! This is a post to help your guests to be entertained as they are waiting for the ceremony or waiting for your pictures to be done.

When trying to decide how your wedding should be you need decide upon a theme or general "feeling" of your wedding. However, most of the language revolves around: Vintage, Chic, Rustic, Barn Rustic, Nature, Elegant, Extravagant, and Classy.

Here are some examples:

Extravagant Chic

If you are looking for more a party-themed wedding; here are some ideas for inspiration:
Sunflower Themed

Circus Themed

Peacock Inspired

Enchanted Forest

Game of Thrones Themed

Batman Inspired

Harry Potter Themed

So as you can see, you can take a simple movie, book, or even thing (flower, bird) and make it the theme or inspiration for your wedding. It can inspire your colors, your style of dress, your wedding party's style, your food, your favors, your flowers, and cake!

FINAL NOTE

You can- of course- combine any of these themes together. For example you could have a very simple nature based Game of Thrones Wedding or a barn rustic Sunflower wedding. It is your day! Enjoy it the way you want! As for me, I have bounced around tons of ideas and made the drastic change from a Nature Braveheart Earthy Type Wedding to a Aqua & Red Vintage 1950's Wedding. (Doesn't the latter just sound so much more fun!!!)

The One Ring to Rule Them All

Most people obsess over three things when they first get in engage:
  1. What am I going to wear?
  2. How much money is this wedding going to cost me?
  3. And what's the ring going to look like...and how big?

While the first two are huge topics, the last one is easy enough to tackle...or attempt to tackle.

So you just got your engagement ring (or are you waiting on that?)- well you have two options:

Do you love it?    OR     Do you hate it?

If you love it then you can get a band to match it, if you hate it then get something completely different.

The Cost

While Ryan Reynolds can afford to spend $2,000,000.00 on a wedding ring, the traditional cost of a wedding ring is supposedly 2 months of your partner's salary. To some this may be a bit much (ranging anywhere from $1,000-$6,000) and to others this may not be enough. With a wedding to plan, you need to talk to your partner and decide where your money should go. Should it go to your rings? The Venue? A honeymoon? A Dress? Or maybe a down payment on a house?

The Style

Take a look at the following charts to get an idea of the type of ring you are interested in getting for your special day.

Hopefully, these charts gave you some more ideas on the type of style you wish for your ring to be. If not I would suggest that you look here on Pinterest.

FINAL NOTE
Once you have figured out (more or less) the type of style, cut, uniqueness, and cost of your ring; you can move on from this and proceed to the rest of wedding planning. I am personally plan to go with a simple and inexpensive ring due to the fact that I am a frugal persona and don't wear rings often and thus lose them. So I would rather have a $400.00 wedding ring that is unique, me, and easy to replace (and less likely to be stolen.)

I must admit that I am a fan of simply and elegant things. If I could, I would wear a simply piece of string like in "The Count of Monte Cristo"
